Northland (OH) defeated Mullins (SC) 79-63 to advance to the consolation bracket championship game of the 2014 Beach Ball Classic at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center.
Mullins (5-7) opened the game by scoring the first eight points before Northland (5-2; Columbus, OH) answered with eight points of its own to tie the game with 12:21 on the clock. After trading baskets, Northland went on a 15-2 run to open a 27-15 cushion with 5:40 on the clock. The Vikings went on to lead 37-24 at halftime and built leads as large as 27 in the second half while cruising to the victory.
Northland was led by Seth Towns’ 31 points and 11 rebounds. Mullins was paced by Jaleek Felton with 33 points.
