Knott County (KY) defeated Spring Valley (SC) 78-46 to take home fifth place at the 2014 Beach Ball Classic.
Knott County (11-1; Hindman, KY)trailed briefly early in the first half as Spring Valley (6-7; Columbia, SC) scored the game’s first four points. Knott County responded to the slow start by scoring 15 unanswered points to open a 15-4 lead with 8:43 to play in the opening half. The Patriots went on to lead by as many as 39 in the second half after holding a 43-19 lead at halftime.
Knott County was led by Camron Justice’s 37 points as the senior Vanderbilt signee connected on 11-of-13 from the field and 11-of-15 from the free throw line. Justice tallied 107 points in his four games at the Beach Ball Classic, ranking him eighth on the all-time four-game list in tournament history. Evan Hall posted another double-double in the tourney with 10 points and 14 rebounds. Hall ended the BBC with 51 rebounds, ranking seventh on the all-time list.
Spring Valley was paced by P.J. Dozier’s 11 points and six rebounds.
