Northwest Guilford scored early and often in an easy 51-19 victory over Socastee in the opening round of the 2017 CresCom Bank Holiday Invitational.
TURNING POINT: Just four seconds into the game, Northwest Guilford’s Reagan Kargo scored on a layup and that started a 15-0 run that put the game away quickly. Socastee did not score for the first 10:22 and then went scoreless for the opening 9:03 of the second half.
NORTHWEST GUILFORD LEADERS: Elizabeth Kitley seemed ready to grab the single game rebounding record of the CresCom Bank Holiday Invitational before she was pulled from the game with over 11 minutes to play. Kitley left the game with 18 rebounds and 13 points. A’ja Wilson, then of Heathwood Hall (SC) and now an All-American at the University of South Carolina, owns the record at 24 boards.
SOCASTEE LEADERS: Mariah Lineback led the Braves with seven points and six rebounds.
