Providence (FL) scored early and often as the Stallions ran away from Socastee (SC) 70-38 in the opening round of the Beach Ball Classic.
The Stallions (7-3) scored the first 18 points of the game in just 3:12, including five dunks, as they went on to build leads as large as 39 points in the opening half. In the second half, Providence played none of its original starters in cruising to the win.
Providence was led by Duke signee Grayson Allen’s 18 points in just nine minutes of action. Allen connected on 7-of-9 shots from the field, including 3-of-4 from beyond the 3-point arc. Christian Terrell, who will play for Florida Gulf Coast in college, tallied 12 points in his 10 minutes of action.
Koel Cutler led Socastee (7-3) with 15 points.
