Providence (8-4, Jacksonville, FL) used some hot shooting from the field to defeat Myrtle Beach (6-6, Myrtle Beach, SC) 74-47 in a consolation bracket game.
Providence scored the first 14 points of the game and never looked back, building its largest lead on a Jacorie Archie 3-pointer at the buzzer to give the Stallions a 41-19 lead at the half. Providence connected on 57.1 percent (16-of-28) of its shots from the field and committed just one turnover while Myrtle Beach connected on just 8-of-22 from the field (36.4%) in the opening half.
Providence, which shot 54.5% for the game (30-of-55) and led by as many as 32 in the second half, was led in scoring by Archie’s 16 points. Ahren Freeman added 13 points for the Stallions while Kyle Marion, Zackery Bryant and Will Erickson added 10 points each for the balanced Providence attack.
Myrtle Beach was led by Blake John’s 10 points while Robert Swanson and Brady Vest added nine points each for the Seahawks.
