Jonesboro (10-3, Jonesboro, GA) used a 7-0 run at the end of the first half to open a double-digit advantage and cruise to a 61-33 consolation bracket game victory over McQuaid Jesuit (5-3, Rochester, NY).
Anthony Iglesia’s 3-point basket with 4:25 to play in the first half for McQuaid Jesuit cut the Cardinals’ lead to 22-15. Unfortunately for the Knights, that would be their last points of the opening 16-minute half as Jonesboro scored the last seven points to open a 29-15 halftime cushion.
In the second half, Jonesboro scored the first five points to start a 19-5 run that opened the Cardinal’s larges lead of 28 points at 48-20 with 7:59 remaining.
Jonesboro was led by MJ Walker’s 21 points and nine rebounds. McQuaid Jesuit, playing its second game without two starters, was paced by Anthony Iglesia’s 12 points.
