Orem (UT) advanced to the semifinal round of the consolation bracket with a 68-59 victory over Christ Presbyterian Academy (Nashville, TN).
Orem (5-2) held a 26-24 advantage at halftime as the two squads battled back and forth through the opening 16 minute half. With the game tied 34-34 with 11:46 on the clock in the second half, Orem scored eight unanswered point to open a 42-34 cushion on Zach Hunsaker’s 3-point basket with 10:13 to play. The run proved to be enough for the win as the Tigers went on to build an 11-point advantage.
Hunsaker led four Orem players in double figures with 16 points. Cooper Hold and Dalton Nixon tallied 15 points each while Jordan Darger added 13 points for the Tigers.
Christ Presbyterian (11-2) was paced by Braxton Bonds’ 15 points and Jalen Lindsey’s 14 points and nine rebounds.
