The 2013 Carolinas Challenge on Wednesday, December 18th, looks to be an exciting evening of women’s college basketball. At 5:00 pm, local Coastal Carolina University takes on nearby College of Charleston. Then at 7:00 pm, currently #10 University of South Carolina takes on #15 University of North Carolina.
There will be many familiar faces of players that played in The CresCom Holiday Invitational in high school. For South Carolina, Myrtle Beach’s Khadijah Sessions, Spring Valley’s Asia Dozier, Dutch Fork’s Alaina Coates, Fayette County’s Elem Ibiam, and Providence Day’s Tiffany Mitchell. Another local product, North Myrtle Beach’s India Farmer, did not play in the CBHI but is a freshman on the Gamecock’s roster.
For North Carolina, Spring Valley’s Xylina McDaniels, Goose Creek’s N’Dea Bryant, and Norcross’ Diamond Deshields. Also assistant coach and WNBA player, York’s Ivory Latta.
Also Myrtle Beach’s Keyaurna Wilson plays for Coastal Carolina.
