Christ the King (NY) defeated Lower Richland (SC) 54-47 to earn the consolation bracket championship at the 2015 Crescom Bank Holiday Invitational. Lower Richland (6-6; Hopkins, SC) played in the consolation title game despite losing the previous game because Norcross (GA), which scored a 59-35 victory over Lower Richland, could not play due to a scheduling issue.
Christ the King (6-2; Middle Village, NY) led the entire game, including a 48-35 lead with 6:56 remaining in the second half. Lower Richland refused to go away quietly as the Diamond Hornets scored 10 unanswered points to close the gap to just three points at 48-45 on Dejah Williford’s layup with 2:47 to play. Christ the King scored the next six points to ice the victory.
Dominique Toussaint, a signee with the University of Virginia, led Christ the King with a game-high 14 points. Louisville signee Sydney Zambrotta added 13 points, eight assists and four steals for the Royals.
Lower Richland was led by Williford’s 11 points and five steals, while Kameron Roach and Cailah Hicklin added 10 points each.
