Winder Barrow (GA) pulled away in overtime to defeat Neumann-Goretti (PA) 60-52 in the opening round of the 2017 CresCom Bank Holiday Invitational.
TURNING POINT: After losing its lead and then forcing overtime, Winder Barrow scored the first six points in the extra session and never trailed in route to the victory. Winder Barrow led by as many as seven points in the first half but needed a 3-pointer by Chellia Watson with 14 seconds remaining in regulation to tie the game at 48-48. Neumann-Goretti did not get a shot off in its final possession of the second half to send the game to overtime.
WINDER BARROW LEADERS: Latrice Perkins connected on 7-of-11 from the field and 5-of-7 from the free throw line to lead Winder Barrow with 19 points. Olivia Nelson-Ododa posted a double-double of 15 points and 12 rebounds and Chellia Watson added 17 points for the Bulldogs.
NEUMANN-GORETTI LEADERS: Jabria Ingram led Neumann-Goretti with a game-high 20 points and dished out six assists.
