Wesleyan (NC) advanced to the semifinal round of the 2017 CresCom Bank Holiday Invitational with a 37-36 victory over John A. Ferguson Sr. (FL).
TURNING POINT: Shaniya Jones connected on a free throw with three seconds remaining to give Wesleyan the 37-36 lead. Ferguson’s inbounds pass by Natalia Pineda was tipped and grabbed by Wesleyan’s Jones to secure the victory.
WESLEYAN LEADERS: Shaniya Jones led all scorers with 19 points while teammate Anaia Hoard added nine points.
FERGUSON LEADERS: Natalia Pineda led the Falcons with 15 points and four steals.
