Center Point (AL) scored a 39-32 victory over Orangeburg (SC) in the opening game of the 2015 Crescom Bank Holiday Invitational at the Myrtle Beach (SC) Convention Center.
With the game tied at 26-26 with 12:05 remaining in the second half, Center Point (7-6) went on an 8-2 run to open a 34-28 advantage with 6:55 on the clock. The Bruins (6-1) cut the lead to just four points on a layup by Jade Williams with 6:14 to play. Center Point answered by scoring five unanswered points to open a 39-30 advantage with just 21 seconds remaining.
Amber Rivers paced Center Point with 15 points and 11 rebounds while Orangeburg was led by Shay Jackson’s eight points and eight boards.
