Brentwood (TN) Academy opened play of the 2017 CresCom Bank Holiday Invitational with a 76-46 victory over Swansea (SC).
TURNING POINT: Leading 19-14 with 6:41 remaining in the opening half, Brentwood tallied the final 17 points of the half to open a commanding 36-14 lead by the break. The run would reach 27 points as the Eagles scored the first 10 points of the second half and went on to lead by as many as 46 points in cruising to the victory.
BRENTWOOD LEADERS: Sydni Harvey led the Eagles with 13 points, six rebounds and five assists. Lauren Graham came off of the bench to add 10 points and seven boards.
SWANSEA LEADERS: Danae McNeal led all scorers with 26 points and added seven rebounds for the Tigers.
RECORDS: Brentwood Academy 6-1. Swansea 5-4.
WHAT’S NEXT: Brentwood advances to the quarterfinals to face the winner of the Harris County (GA) vs. Fayette County (GA) opening round meeting on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. Swansea falls into the consolation bracket to face the loser of that same contest on Wednesday at 12:00 p.m.
