Norcross (GA) won the battle of Georgia and 5th place at the 2013 Beach Ball Classic with a 70-56 victory over Miller Grove (Lithonia, GA).
With Norcross leading 35-32 at halftime, Deven Dorsett connected on a 3-pointer just 32 seconds into the second half to tie the game at 35-35 for Miller Grove. After the teams traded baskets, Norcross used a 16-3 run to stretch its lead to 54-40 with 8:27 to play on Chris Herndon’s layup. Norcross could cut the lead to no fewer than eight points the rest of the way as the Blue Devils cruised to the victory.
AJ Bush led all scorers in leading Norcross (8-4) to the win with 23 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the field, including 4-of-7 from beyond the 3-point arc. Farrar and William Gibbons came off of the bench to tally 15 and 14 points, respectively.
Miller Grove (11-4) was led by Alterique Gilbert’s 16 points and six steals, while James Walker chipped in 15 points and seven rebounds.
