#20 Cox Mill advanced to the 5th Place game of the 2018 Beach Ball Classic with a 90-77 overtime victory over Archbishop Stepinac at the Myrtle Beach (SC) Convention Center. Cox Mill advances to the fifth place game and will play the winner of the Bishop O’Connell-Jack Yates contest.
TURNING POINT: With the game tied 71-71 at the end of regulation, Cox Mill scored the first 10 points in overtime and went on to build the largest lead of the contest at the game’s final score.
COX MILL STAT LEADERS: Duke signee Wendell Moore, Jr., led the Chargers with 38 points and 14 rebounds. UNC Charlotte signee Caleb Stone-Carrawell posted 24 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and four steals.
STEPINAC STAT LEADERS: RJ Davis led four Stepinac players in double figure scoring with 23 points and added six assists. Justin Morety added 17 points, Eduard Minaya chipped in 15 points, and Matt Brand scored 11.
