Westchester advanced to the championship game of the 2018 Beach Ball Classic with a 47-45 victory over North Crowley at the Myrtle Beach (SC) Convention Center. Westchester will now face Scott County for the championship on Monday night at 7:30 p.m.
TURNING POINT: Trailing 43-42 with 4:25 to play in regulation, Westchester’s Kevin Bethel scored on a driving layup with 3:10 on the clock to take the lead at 44-43. The Comets connected on 3-of-4 free throws in the final two minutes to earn the victory and advance to the title game.
WESTCHESTER STAT LEADERS: Kaelen Allen led Westchester with 14 points and seven rebounds. Jordan Brinson added 12 points and nine rebounds while Jeremiah Turley also added 12 points.
NORTH CROWLEY STAT LEADERS: Isaiah Crawford led the Panthers with 21 points, six rebounds and five assists.
