St . Johns (DC) defeated Balitmore Poly (MD) 62-56 to advance to the semifinal round of the 39th Annual Beach Ball Classic at the Myrtle Beach (SC) Convention Center.
St. John’s trailed by as many as nine points in the opening half and 29-27 before posting the come-from-behind victory. Ishmael Leggett let the Cadets with 22 points while freshman teammate Amani Hansberry posted a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Brandon Murray led Poly with 19 points.
