St. Francis (GA) defeated East Hamilton (TN) 58-53 in the opening round of the 2018 CresCom Bank Holiday Invitational at the Myrtle Beach (SC) Convention Center.
TURNING POINT: With the game tied for the eighth time at 45-45 with 8:30 remaining, Kennedi Philson gave St. Francis the lead for good on a layup with 8:10 on the clock. The Knights stretched the advantage to six points at 53-47 on another Philson layup with 1:30 to play.
ST. FRANCIS STAT LEADERS: Mia Moore led the Knights with 24 points and eight rebounds. Kennedi Philson and Jordan Isaacs added 12 and 10 points, respectively.
EAST HAMILTON STAT LEADERS: Madison Hayes led all scorers in the game with 33 points. Hayes also grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds and added five steals and three blocked shots. Dezah Lacy added 13 points for the Hurricanes.
