Hough (NC) scored a 71-58 victory over Spring Valley (SC) to advance to the semifinal round of the 2014 Beach Ball Classic at the Myrtle Beach (SC) Convention Center.
Malik Dunbar scored teh first three points of the contest just 20 seconds into play to give Spring Valley (5-6; Columbia, SC) its only lead of the contest. Hough (10-1; Cornelius, NC) scored the next six points and led by as mant as 12 points in the opening half and 19 points in the closing minutes.
Luke Maye, who has signed to play at the University of North Carolina, posted 29 points and 19 rebounds to lead Hough. Spring Valley’s P.J. Dozier, who will play collegiately at the University of South Carolina, had 24 points and 12 boards.
