Myrtle Beach, SC – December 27, 2023: The Great Crossing Warhawks from Kentucky continued their undefeated streak with a commanding 71-33 victory over the Socastee Braves in the Traditional Bracket of the 2023 Beach Ball Classic. Held at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center, the game showcased Great Crossing’s robust team dynamics and individual talents.
Led by Malachi Moreno, who put up an impressive 19 points and grabbed 15 rebounds, the Warhawks displayed a strong offensive and defensive game. Moreno, known for his agility and accurate shooting, was a nightmare for the Braves, also recording four blocks. Vince Dawson III complemented Moreno’s efforts by scoring 13 points and dishing out four assists, keeping the team’s momentum high throughout the game.
The Braves struggled to find their rhythm against the Warhawks’ tight defense. Charlie Hill was the top scorer for Socastee with 9 points, but it wasn’t enough to challenge the dominating visitors. The Braves were hindered by a low shooting percentage of just 27.5% from the field and 22.2% from the three-point line, compared to Great Crossing’s 50.9% and 34.8%, respectively.
