Montverde Academy (FL) captured the Championship of the 2017 Beach Ball Classic with a 70-42 victory over Long Island Lutheran (NY at the Myrtle Beach (SC) Convention Center. Montverde has now participated in two Beach Ball Classic tournaments and won the title both times as they also won in 2015.
MONTVERDE LEADERS: RJ Barrett led Montverde with 27 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists. Makhi Mitchell added 14 points and 11 rebounds for the Eagles.
LONG ISLAND LEADERS: Donatas Kupsas paced Long Island Lutheran with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
