Bishop Gorman (NV) used its height to pull away from Shadow Mountain and advance to the semifinals with a ??? victory in the 2014 Beach Ball Classic at the Myrtle Beach (SC) Convention Center.
After leading 40-33 at halftime, Bishop Gorman (10-4; Las Vegas, NV) built leads as large as 24 points in the second half to cruise to the victory. The Gaels, who have eight players on the roster taht stand 6-5 or taller, outrebounded Shadow Mountain 43-34 and held a 42-18 scoring advantage in the paint.
Bishop Gorman was led by its twin towers in 7-0 Stephen Zimmerman and 6-11 Chase Jeter. Zimmerman led teh Gaels with 17 points and added 10 rebounds, while Jeter tallied 15 points and 12 boards.
Craig Randall led all scorers with 25 points to pace Shadow Mountain (9-3; Phoenix, AZ).
