In accordance with National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) board of governors vote to permit a 35-second shot clock for the 2022-23 season, the Beachball Classic will use a 35 second clock in 2022 for the first time in tournament history. Chad Smith, Beachball Classic Tournament Director said, “Over the years, we have requested to use the shot clock but it was never approved. The shot clock adds a whole new level of strategy and time management. No more standing at mid court with the ball if you have the lead. We think it’s going to add excitement to the game.”
