Bishop McNamera (MD), ranked #2 in the nation, defeated St. Francis 74-43 to advance to the semifinal round of the 2018 CresCom Bank Holiday Invitational at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center.
TURNING POINT: St. Francis’ Morgan Harper connected on a 3-point basket to open the scoring but it was all downhill after that for the Knights. Actually, St. Francis still held a 15-14 lead with 7:37 on the clock in the first half before Bishop McNamera closed the half with a 17-4 run that gave the Mustangs a 31-19 lead at the break.
BISHOP McNAMERA STAT LEADERS: Aliyah Matharu led all scorers with 20 points to pace four Bishop McNamera players in double figures. Aniya Bell added 15 off of the bench while Liatu King and Madison Scott added 11 and 10 points, respectively.
ST. FRANCIS STAT LEADERS: Kennedi Philson paced the Knights with 10 points and nine rebounds.
