Christ the King Wins to End Opening Round

In the final game of the opening round, Christ the King (NY) defeated previously unbeaten Myrtle Beach (SC) 67-32 at the 2017 CresCom Bank Holiday Invitational.

TURNING POINT:  Myrtle Beach scored the first four points of the contest and kept the game close for the opening seven minutes.  Leading 9-8 with 9:33 on the clock, Christ the King scored nine unanswered points to open a double digit advantage and never looked back..

CHRIST THE KING LEADERS:  Kaelynn Satterfield led all scorers with 16 points and added nine rebounds for the Royals.  Natalija Marshall chipped in 13 points while Klarke Sconiers added 10 points and three blocked shots.

MYRTLE BEACH LEADERS:  Jalah Horton’s 13 points paced Myrtle Beach.

RECORDS:  Christ the King 7-2.  Myrtle Beach 4-1.

WHAT’S NEXT:  Christ the King advances to the quarterfinal round to face Winder Barrow on Thursday at 8:45 p.m.  Myrtle Beach will face Neumann-Goretti in the consolation bracket on Thursday at 1:45 p.m.
