St. Francis Says NO to Miami Sr. 3-Peat

Miami (FL) Senior stood alone at the top of the podium following the 2013 and 2014 Crescom Bank Invitational events but there will be no three-peat as the Stingarees were defeated 36-29 by St. Francis (GA) in the 2015 quarterfinal round.

Miami Senior (11-1) appeared headed to another semifinal round as it held a 22-14 advantage at halftime.  St. Francis (10-0; Alpharetta, GA) turned things around in the second half though as the Knights used their height advantage for the comeback win.  The Knights held Miami Senior to just seven points in the second half and tallied 18 points in the paint to secure the win.  St. Francis also outrebounded Miami Senior 35-25, including 13 offensive boards that led to six second chance points.

Taja Cummings came off of the bench to lead St. Francis with 14 points while teammate Kasiyahn Kushkituah grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds.  Miami Senior, which connected on just 15.0 percent (3-of-20) from the field in the second half, was led by Alondra Angulo’s 10 points.
