A strong second half by the Milton Eagles propelled them into the semifinals with a 64-53 win over Ballard.
In a game that featured one tie and 15 lead changes in the opening half, Milton (7-4; Milton, GA) closed the opening 16 minutes with an 11-1 run to take a 34-24 lead into the locker room.
Milton maintained a 10-point margin at 43-33 when Ballard (7-4; Louisville, KY) stormed from behind midway through the second half. The Bruins scored eight unanswered points, capped by a 3-pointer by Quenton Snider, to close the gap to just two points at 43-41 with 10:20 to play.
Milton responded with five quick points and slowly stretched the lead back to as many as 15 points in the closing minutes.
Milton was paced by Evan Nolte's 17 points, 10 rebounds and seven steals. Tevin Glass added 16 points and nine boards for the Eagles, while Charles Mann chipped in 11 points.
Ballard was led with 16 points by Lavonne Holland.
