Spring Valley (Columbia, SC) moved one step closer to defending its Crescent Bank Holiday Invitational Championship with a 65-33 quarterfinal victory over Center Point (Birmingham, AL).

The Vikings (7-0) ran out to a 16-5 leadf in the opening seven minutes of play and never looked back.  It was the Carolinas Connection that again led Spring Valley in University of North Carolina signee Xylina McDaniel and University of South Carolina signee Asia Dozier.  McDaniel, the daughter of former NBA star Xavier McDaniel, tallied 20 points while Dozier led all scorers with 22 points.

Keonna Farmer ked Center Point (10-2) with 10 points and seven rebounds.
